What programs are installed with the OpenOffice 3.2.1 package for Windows?

After installing the OpenOffice 3.2.1 package for Windows, OOo-SDK_3.2.1_Win_x86_install_en-US.exe, you will see 3 installed programs.

1. Go to "Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features" You see the following 3 new installed programs:

2. Use "File Explorer", you can find the following folders and files to support these programs:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\DESIGNER

3. Use "Task Manager" or "msconfig.exe", you can see the following startup programs are added:

• "quickstart" - Displays an icon in the taskbar for starting OpenOffice. You can disable this, because you can always start OpenOffice from the start menu.
• "Java Update Scheduler" - Running a background process to check for newer versions of Java. You should disable this, because you need stay with Java 6 to run OpenOffice 3.2.1.
